Website plan terms.

Version 2026-10-19. For the own-it plan, the $99 a month plan, five more pages and the buyout.

Who this is between

These terms are between you (the business that keeps a website) and Scroll Theory Media LLC, Wooster, Ohio ("I", "me"). Chad Tennent runs it. Questions about any of this: chad@scrolltheory.media or (330) 439-5120.

The free preview

The preview is free and you owe nothing for it. It is a first look, built from what I could find about your business and what you told me. It is a private link that search engines are told not to list, and I take it down any time you ask.

Once you pick a plan, I text and email you for your details and photos (a short form and an upload link). I build out the full site from those.

What the site includes

Both plans include a site of 3 to 5 pages: your home page, your services, about and contact, fast on phones, with hosting, a security certificate, Google-ready setup (the business details search engines read, a sitemap, and your old site's pages sent to the new ones if you had a site), and your domain (see below).

Two review rounds are included before it goes live: you look it over and tell me what to change, I change it, twice. A third round is $75 an hour, quoted before I start.

Need more pages? Five more service or area pages are $249, one payment, built the same day you order them.

The 24-hour promise

Your premium website, live in 24 hours, or it's yours free.

The 24 hours start when your details and photos are in (or you tell me to use the photos from your Google listing and website). The clock pauses while the site is with you for review, and while your domain settings take effect.

If I miss it, I refund what you paid for the plan, and the full site is yours to keep for free: I send you the site files and the domain is yours. You host it yourself from then on.

Own it: $1,500 once

You get the full build, the site put on your domain, and the two review rounds.

Hosting is included with no monthly charge. You choose: I host it, or I send you the site files to host anywhere.

If I host it, changes after it goes live cost $75 an hour, quoted before I start, with a 30-minute minimum.

If you pay over time with Affirm, Klarna or Afterpay, that agreement is between you and them. I am paid in full when you check out.

Monthly: $99 a month

You get the same full build and review rounds, hosting, and small changes. Small changes means edits to the pages you have: text, photos, prices, hours, a review or a short section. I usually make them within two business days. New pages, new features or a redesign get a quote first.

You are billed $99 the day you sign up and on the same date every month after, until you cancel. There is no setup fee and no contract.

Cancel any time online with the link in your receipt (enter your email and Stripe sends you a sign-in link), or tell me by email or phone and I will cancel it for you. Cancelling stops the next charge. The plan runs to the end of the month you already paid for.

When the plan ends, the site comes down 7 days later. You keep everything that is yours: your domain, your logo, your photos and your words. Ask and I send you your content. The design and the code stay with me.

Want to keep the site itself? Buy it out for $1,500, one payment, any time before it comes down. Then it is yours, with the same hosting choice and change rate as the own-it plan.

Your domain

On both plans (own it and $99 a month), if you do not have a domain, a new one is included (up to $15 a year): you pick from the names that are available and I register it for your business. It is yours: if you ever leave, I transfer it to you, and the yearly renewal is yours from then on.

If you already have one, you keep it and point it to me, or move it over (I walk you through it step by step, and I keep your email working). You stay the owner the whole time, and its yearly renewal stays with you, like now: the included domain is for a new one.

Refunds

Own it: if you change your mind before you send your details and photos, I refund every dollar. Once they are in, the full build is underway, so the payment is not refundable, but I keep making changes through the two review rounds until the site matches what you asked for. If I cannot deliver it, I refund you. The 24-hour promise above comes on top of this.

Monthly: if you cancel before you send your details and photos, I refund your first payment. After that, payments are not refunded for part of a month; cancelling stops the next one.

Five more pages: refunded in full if I have not started them.

Buyout: not refundable once the site is handed over or set up to stay with me.

If something is wrong, tell me first. I would rather fix it than have you go to your bank.

Who owns what

Your content is always yours: your words, photos, logo, reviews and domain.

Own it, bought out, or a missed 24-hour promise: the site is yours to use, change and move.

Monthly: you use the site while you are on the plan. The design and code are mine.

You tell me you have the right to use everything you send me (photos, logos, text). The claims on your site (licenses, prices, results) are yours to stand behind.

What I need from you

Your details, your photos and your review answers. If I do not hear from you for 30 days during a build, I may pause it until you are ready.

What I do not promise

I build sites to bring in calls, but I cannot promise rankings, calls or sales. Hosting runs on Cloudflare and stays up nearly all the time, but no one can promise it never goes down.

If something goes wrong, the most I owe you is what you paid me in the last 12 months.

Changes to these terms

If I change these terms, I email you before the change affects your plan. The version you agreed to is recorded with your payment.

The law

These terms are governed by Ohio law.
