Privacy Policy

This is the plain-language version, because that is how we talk. Scroll Theory Media ("we," "us") builds and runs this site at scrolltheory.media. This page explains what we collect when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and we will answer in plain words.
What we collect
Two kinds of information:
- What you give us. If you fill out the contact form or the website grader, we collect what you type: your name, phone, email, the website you entered, and your message. We use that to reply to you and follow up about your project.
- What gets collected automatically. Like most sites, we use analytics tools that record general usage data: pages viewed, roughly where visitors come from, what device and browser they use, and how they move through the site. This helps us see what is working and fix what is not.
The analytics tools we use
These run in the background and set cookies in your browser:
- Microsoft Clarity. Heatmaps and anonymized session recordings of how visitors interact with pages. Governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Google Analytics 4. Traffic sources, page views, and conversion paths. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Meta Pixel. Measures the results of any ads we run on Facebook and Instagram so we are not advertising blind. Governed by the Meta Privacy Policy.
Our contact and grader forms are handled by Formspree, which processes the message and passes it to us by email.
Cookies, simply put
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use them for the analytics above. We do not use them to build an advertising profile of you on this site, and we do not sell your information to anyone. Ever.
You are in control. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google opt-out add-on, and you can manage ad tracking in your Meta ad settings. The site still works fine with cookies turned off.
How we use what we collect
- To respond to your message and talk about your project.
- To understand how people use the site so we can make it better and faster.
- To measure whether our marketing is actually working.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers named above, who process it on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what we have, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Just email [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA. We will honor valid requests regardless of where you are.
Links to other sites
We link out to client sites and other resources. Once you leave scrolltheory.media, this policy no longer applies. Check the privacy policy of wherever you land.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be obvious, not buried.
